This podcast is my tribute to Dan Sullivan who writes brilliantly about the joy of procrastination.
Dan is the founder of Strategic Coach, a company that helps elite entrepreneurs achieve exponential success.
He is an original thinker who helps you (among other things) to reframe procrastination from a negative to a positive experience. He has written an entire book on the subject called “Procrastination Priority.”
He also does a podcast with another brilliant marketer, Dean Jackson, called “The Joy of Procrastination.” Dean, by the way, is the man who invented the capture page.
In this episode, I focus on three things that help you to liberate yourself from the weight and bondage of procrastination:
Also, I offer you this powerful thought that Dan expresses that can literally transform and enrich your life. “Self forgiveness is when you give up wishing that you had a better past.”
MEET THE HOLLYWOOD INSIDER
Hollywood is more than a place. It’s a story. Actually, it’s many stories, as many as we can make up in our heads.
Simply put, Hollywood means something different to everyone. Your story depends on whether you live there, you like or loathe celebrity, are outgoing or shy, religious or secular. No two people see the same Hollywood.
Today’s guest, Harry Lowell, is a man who lives and breathes Hollywood. Not the Hollywood of glitz and glamor, but the Hollywood of creative expression, the Hollywood of storytelling.
Harry knew he wanted to tell the kind of stories that live on a screen when he was a kid. Luckily, for him and for us, he never lost his childlike curiosity, excitement, and passion for the world of storytelling.
You will find his story refreshing, inspiring, and revealing about what matters in life and business, about the things that make you feel alive and keep you true to yourself.
Here are some of the highlights of today’s episode:
- Powerful life lessons from Harry Lowell’s dad
- The importance of mentorship
- The ego’s role in your success or failure
- Why you must master your relationship to time
- The real power of teamwork
- How to successfully pitch anything to anyone
- The biggest obstacle to your success
- Powerful branding tips
- Harry’s biggest mistake
- Harry’s greatest achievement
- What it means to be the “eye of the storm”

SUCCESS & ADVERSITY
What is accidental success, and how is it related to adversity? The answer is fascinating, and it may not be what you expect.
Jeff Hall, today’s guest, has achieved massive success with Overflow Cafe, the company he created to help businesses master the SEO game and achieve high rankings online.
You may be surprised when you learn that his journey took him from one accidental success to another. Each time Jeff developed a new skill, he did it by taking bold action in the face of adversity. He put one foot in front of the other, even when we was stepping into the dark.
WINNING AGAINST THE ODDS
Adversity is relative, so what kind of challenges did Jeff Hall face and overcome? Here are just a few:
- A childhood of abject poverty
- Bites from bird eating spiders and fire ants
- Derision as a student for having only one pair of broken down shoes
- Humiliation for lacking the money to join school outings
DRIVEN BY PAIN
Jeff Hall’s outer world was often very tough. His inner game made him unstoppable, a trait he learned from his remarkable grandmother.
Jeff’s circumstances could have created a powerful victim story for him to live into. Instead, Jeff turned each painful setback into victory.
In this interview, you will learn:
- How Jeff became a resourceful salesman at the age of seven
- How he became a computer wiz without knowing a thing about computers
- How lying about his age took him closer to success
- How the name Overflow Cafe was just another accident
DISASTER TO MASTER
Today, Jeff’s knowledge and skill, and his company’s expertise offer businesses a powerful unfair advantage in our digital marketplace.
Love it or hate it, businesses need the Internet to grow and thrive in the 21st century. A key ingredient to growth online is strong SEO. Jeff and his Overflow Cafe offer you that.
It’s a wonderful ironic twist that a young man who knew nothing about computers became an internationally recognized SEO expert. He literally proved what one of my mentors, David T.S. Wood, often says, “Every master was once a disaster.”
You will find the life lessons and the business savvy in this interview with Jeff Hall eyeopening and highly entertaining.
You may even tweak your own inner game to make you unstoppable in the face of any obstacle.

JEFF’S FAVORITE QUOTE
“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.” – Zig Ziglar
What is failure? And why has it gotten a bad rap?
Most of us have gone through an education system that stigmatizes mistakes. Make mistakes, and you get low grades. Make enough mistakes, and you fail.
Failing earns you the label of loser, a person of low intelligence. If you accept the label, you step into a low status identity. That identity becomes the frame through which you view the world.
CHANGE THE FRAME
Refuse to see failure as something negative. Answer the question, “what is failure,” like this. Failure is an important necessary step on the road to success. You’ll be in great company.
Thomas Edison is a prime example of man who delighted in failure. On the subject of his many “failed” attempts to invent the light bulb, Edison said, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work. Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”
MINDSET – MINDSET – MINDSET
You may know exactly what the word mindset means. But until you experience the power of shifting your mindset, of changing your limiting beliefs (stories) to empowering ones, you won’t fully appreciate the meaning of mindset.
Today’s podcast guest is Todd Palmer. His story will nudge and inspire you to view the world through an empowering frame. His story will help you discover a mindset that fires you up and can make you unstoppable. Todd is a guy who failed forward to success. His answer to what is failure was always positive.
YOU WILL LEARN
- How Todd turned massive debt into exciting opportunity
- How to shift your thoughts from lack to abundance
- How being a single parent can lead to enormous success
- The power of life balance
- Why DNA is more important that your resume
- Todd’s 4 pillars of success for your business
- The crucial difference between leadership and management
- MUCH MORE…

This is an escape story. It’s about a clever man with an unquenchable thirst for freedom.
His name is Alex Gluskin. He tricked the KGB and gamed the communist Soviet system to escape from Russia at the age of twenty-six.
He loves talking about it. And, he’s a great storyteller. He will entertain you and enrich your mind in this podcast interview.
He grew up in a society that dictates what you should believe and controls your life with fear.
Many people resign to this enslavement. They accept their circumstances and call it fate. Not Alex Gluskin. He wanted out and got creative.
As he tells it, he learned to lie before he learned to talk. He mastered black market business by the time he was twenty.
He studied the world around him and foresaw the collapse of the Soviet system. He learned about North America and freedom. And, he made a firm decision. He would do whatever it took to leave Russia.
I won’t spoil the fun by telling you how he did it. That would be like revealing the end of a great thriller. I’ll let Alex captivate and entertain you with his true life escape story.
Make no mistake. This story is not late night TV fluff. It’s got valuable lessons about creativity, networking, achieving massive success, and winning the life game with any hand you’re dealt.
Alex’s insight into the mindset of successful investing is worth the price of admission. He became a top investment strategist in Canada, made millions for his clients and himself, and retired to a lifestyle by design in 2005.
One of the most powerful things you will gain from Alex Gluskin is a deeper appreciation of your opportunities and personal power that are precious gifts of life in the free world.
You may think that you already know that. But do you? Really? The truth is that we all tend to take for granted the things we have always had. The things we didn’t have to fight for with our lives.
You may get a fresh perspective on the saying, “There’s no such thing as a free lunch,” a perspective that will inspire you to be, do, and have more. Much more of everything you deserve in life.
